My Secret Room

My Secret Room

By Kiko

The warmth of my coffee embraced my body in the cold night. The melodious singing of the crickets sounded serene, trying to prove the strength of a loyal brick wall. In the corner of the room, there is a mirror decorated with lamps that frame it. Symbolizes happiness for the owner. A star-studded ceiling in the darkness, there are many dreams and hopes written neatly, lined up among the sweet memories in polaroids.

In another corner, a white table looks attractive with dozens of books piled on it. There are still many stories that I want to write, while the hands of the clock show the time is 11 p.m but my fingers began to move slowly, my eyes began to dim.

“Thank you for joining my class and see you”.

“See you, sir”. I replied.

I left the room. There's nothing left, only the student benches and the wall magazine in the back corner.

“Okta?” someone called me from my back.

“Hey, did you call me?” I turned my face and answered him.

“Yes, I called you”.

“I am Leon, your classmate”.

“Oh Leon, nice to know you.

“Yeah, me too”.

“Anyway, where are you going?”

“I don’t have any idea”.

“Great, c’mon follow me”. Leon held my hand while running, taking me to a place where I became more alive. A place that all my life I always look forward to setting foot there.

"Wow, am I dreaming?" Leon, tell me?!”

“No, this is real”

I can see how magnificent Tower bridge unites the cities of London and Southwark. A bridge that crosses the River Thames and can be divided into two parts when large ships pass through it. It's a beautiful sight.

“Are you fine?”

“Ah yeah, I am really fine”.

I'm speechless. Like my world stopped at that time. It’s Tower Bridge, one of the most places that I want to visit when I come to London.

“Okay, then I will show you something”.

“What is that?”

“Just close your eyes and follow my instruction”.

After a while, he finally asked me to open my eyes. Suddenly like a miracle came right before my eyes. The sky was so happy covered in dark blue and orange clouds. Many birds began to say hello, bidding farewell to a day full of stories. Then across the river, a windmill spins slowly, presenting the beauty of the city of London at the corner of the London Eye. I was just about to take a picture of myself when suddenly my phone rang.

Oh my God! It turned out to be an alarm, and I was only dreaming of going to college in London. I sighed, well I will fight harder for my dream.
